I was hopelessly disappointed with the novel. The beginning was good, you feel sorry for Jacob and his life at the nursing home. You want to read more, especially after his parent were killed. So I kept thinking something great would happen between Marlena and Jacob’s love affair. At the end, Old Jacob ends up back in the circus at 90’s year old. Can’t believe Rosie, the elephant can kill Austin. However, it was interesting to read about the circus during the depressing years.
